Captain Anthony

Never was able to whale or captain another ship as a wanted man of the British Empire. Worked as a manager at several mills in New Bedford, eventually being appointed Customs Inspector for the Port of New Bedford. He died at age 69 of pneumonia.

Married Amy Chase of Edgartown where they settled. He received his shipmaster papers and hunted whales until his death in 1909 at the age of 63.

Continued to be a driving force of Clan na Gael. Tried to change the narrative set out by Brennan - to give the true credit to Breslin until he died. Helped with the 1916 Rebellion in Ireland.

Never joined Clan na Gael due to the condemnation of the organization by the Catholic Church. Continued to support Fenian causes until his death at the age of 46 on April 10, 1890.

Had a difficult life after the Catalpa Rescue. Four of his five children died in his lifetime and he died in New Haven in 1897.

Returned to Dublin and continued to be active in IRB activities. Died of natural causes on September 9, 1884. He is buried in Glasnevin Cemetery.

Was sold soon after the rescue and went on 3 more voyages as a coal barge. It was abandoned and burned on a beach in Belize.

Gave birth to a son in December 1876 in Sydney named John Joseph. Never used the money left to join Breslin. Married a watchmaker in Sydney in 1880.

No more 'tickets to leave' were issued and any already in place were revoked. All Fenians were to remain inside the prison at all times in close confinement.
