Catalpa Log Book
While exploring the Catalpa logbook during the rescue, I faced a fun challenge trying to decipher the old handwriting to uncover the stories within. I decided to take on a little adventure of my own—translating the script into typed words! I’ve completed this task and have updated the link with my progress.
Additionally, I worked on plotting the latitude and longitude from key dates to create a more detailed map of their incredible journey. Keep in mind—I'm an amateur historian, so this was a work in progress, but I’m excited to have made significant strides and to continue learning and sharing this adventure with you!

Did you know there was a second log book?
There was a second logbook, a decoy version, created as a backup in case they were stopped along the journey. This fake logbook was intended to prevent authorities from becoming suspicious of their true intentions or activities if the rescue mission failed.
